EA825 4.0 TFSI Build – 969 HP V8 Performance

V8 engines may be slowly disappearing from modern lineups, but builds like this prove they still offer incredible performance potential. This project achieved 969 HP and 1341 Nm of torque, showing what is possible with the right setup.
At the core of the build is the MuchBoost hybrid turbo upgrade for the EA825 4.0 TFSI platform. The turbo system is designed to deliver significantly higher airflow and maintain boost stability even at very high power levels. This creates the foundation needed for extreme performance builds.
Reaching these numbers required more than just a turbo upgrade. The car was equipped with upgraded intercoolers to manage intake temperatures, performance downpipes to improve exhaust flow and intake components to maximize air delivery. Ignition components were also upgraded to ensure reliable combustion under high load.
The tuning process played a key role in extracting the full potential of the setup. Careful calibration ensures that the engine delivers power consistently while maintaining control and safety.
The final dyno results confirm the effectiveness of the entire package. Power delivery is strong across the rev range, with massive torque available when needed.
This build highlights how the EA825 platform, when combined with a properly engineered turbo upgrade and supporting modifications, can reach levels close to four-digit horsepower.
