The BMW B58 engine has proven itself as one of the most capable and tunable modern turbocharged six-cylinder platforms. Found in cars such as the Toyota Supra A90, BMW Z4, and BMW M440i, it combines strong internals, excellent efficiency, and huge tuning potential.

In this project, the goal was to significantly increase the performance of the Toyota Supra A90 B58 using a properly engineered MuchBoost Hybrid Turbo upgrade and supporting modifications. Working together with AMS Advance Motorsport Europe, Mikes Garage, and Cougar Power Motorsport, this build achieved truly impressive results.

After the full upgrade and professional tuning, the car delivered:
– 560 WHP
– 800 Nm of torque

These numbers transform the Supra A90 into an extremely fast and aggressive performance car with supercar-level acceleration.

Stock Performance

From the factory, the Toyota Supra A90 B58 is powered by a 3.0-liter turbocharged inline-six engine producing approximately:
–  340–387 HP (depending on version)
– ~500 Nm

While the stock setup already offers excellent performance, the factory turbocharger becomes a limiting factor when targeting power levels well beyond 450–500 HP.

Upgraded Performance with MuchBoost

After installing the MuchBoost B58 Hybrid Turbo Upgrade and completing all supporting modifications and calibration, the car achieved:

– 800 Nm

This clearly demonstrates the enormous potential of the B58 platform when combined with a high-flow turbocharger and a properly designed supporting setup.

MuchBoost B58 Hybrid Turbocharger

At the heart of this build is the MuchBoost B58 Hybrid Turbocharger, designed specifically for the BMW B58 engine family.

This turbocharger features:

• Upgraded compressor and turbine wheels
• Optimized internals and precision machining
• Significantly increased airflow capacity and efficiency at higher boost levels

The result is a turbo system capable of supporting much higher power levels while still maintaining fast spool and strong mid-range response.

Supporting Performance Modifications

To ensure stable and reliable operation at this power level, several key supporting upgrades were installed:

• Water-Methanol Injection (WMI)
• Custom intake system
• Custom high-flow downpipe

These modifications improve charge air cooling, increase airflow, reduce exhaust backpressure, and allow the turbocharger and engine to operate more efficiently under high load.

Professional Installation and Calibration

The entire setup and tuning process was carried out in cooperation with AMS Advance Motorsport Europe, Mikes Garage, and Cougar Power Motorsport.

Thanks to precise calibration of the engine management system, the car delivers extremely strong yet controllable power across the entire rev range, resulting in a truly impressive and very fast Supra A90.
