Ford Focus ST MK2 with MuchBoost RNC-RS Hybrid Turbo 497 HP Performance Build

The Ford Focus ST MK2 has long been a favorite platform among performance enthusiasts thanks to its lightweight chassis, strong aftermarket support, and excellent tuning potential. With the right engine internals and turbocharging solution, this platform is capable of delivering truly impressive performance figures.
In this project, the goal was to build a high-power yet reliable setup using a properly engineered MuchBoost RNC-RS Hybrid Turbo upgrade. The result is an exceptionally strong Focus ST MK2 that demonstrates how much potential is hidden in this platform when combined with the right components and professional tuning.
After the full build and calibration, the engine achieved:
– 497 HP at the crank
– 582 Nm of torque
– 1.7 bar of boost pressure
These numbers place this Focus ST far beyond typical street builds and into serious high-performance territory.
From the factory, the Focus ST MK2 is powered by a turbocharged 2.5-liter inline-five engine producing:
~225 HP
~320 Nm
While the engine is known for its character and strong sound, the stock turbocharger and internal components limit its performance potential when aiming for power levels approaching 500 HP.
After installing the MuchBoost RNC-RS Hybrid Turbocharger and completing a comprehensive engine build with supporting modifications, the car achieved:
After Upgrade Performance:
• 497 HP (crank)
• 582 Nm
• 1.7 bar boost pressure
This clearly shows what is possible when a reinforced engine is combined with a high-flow turbocharger and a properly engineered supporting setup.

At the core of this build is the MuchBoost RNC-RS Hybrid Turbocharger, designed to deliver significantly higher airflow compared to the factory unit while maintaining good spool characteristics.
This turbocharger features:
The result is a turbo system capable of supporting power levels well beyond the factory limits of the Focus ST platform.
The engine management system was carefully calibrated to handle the increased airflow, fueling, and boost pressure. The final result is a powerful, responsive, and stable setup, as confirmed by the dyno results.
This build is a perfect example of how a properly prepared engine and a well-matched hybrid turbocharger can transform the Focus ST MK2 into a truly serious performance machine.
